Confirm it's your size

Read the bar stamp. Near the tail of the guide bar you'll usually find pitch, gauge and drive links, e.g. 3/8 .050 70. Some bars stamp the Oregon bar number instead — look it up on oregonproducts.com.
Count the drive links on your old chain — the teeth that ride inside the bar groove, not the cutters. It must be exactly 70.
If the stamp is worn off, the owner's manual lists the bar and chain; find it on the manufacturer's support site.
